Fabrice S. Katembo, PhD Researcher | Lecturer | Administrator, Centre for World Christianity

Fabrice S. Katembo is a PhD researcher at Africa International University, where his work explores the dynamic intersections of migration, faith, and identity. His dissertation, “The Influence of Migrant Churches on the Congolese Migrants’ Integration in Uganda: A Case Analysis of the BCCA (Baptist Church in Central Africa) in Kampala,” examines how faith communities shape the lived experiences of displaced peoples.

Alongside his doctoral research, Fabrice serves as an administrator at the Centre for World Christianity at AIU, contributing to its vision of engaging scholarship in service to the Church’s global mission. His academic journey began in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, but his passion for theology and African Christianity led him to the study of Biblical Studies and World Christianity.

As a lecturer at Shepherds Training College in Uganda, he teaches Church History and Writing Classes, equipping the next generation of Christian leaders with historical depth and critical engagement. His forthcoming book, “When Words Migrate: Language and Christian Identity in Congolese Diaspora Children,” further reflects his deep commitment to understanding how language and faith shape diasporic identities.

Fabrice has also authored “The Mystery of the Church: Applying Paul’s Ecclesiology in Africa” and “Essence of African Traditional Beliefs: An Overview,” writings that reflect his dedication to bridging academic research with the lived realities of the African Church.

He is married and blessed with two children, and together, they make their home in Uganda. Rooted in Africa yet engaged in global conversations, Fabrice’s work stands at the crossroads of scholarship, migration, and mission.
